Neb Bursac impresses in his first Formula Renault BARC test (08.09.2006)

Neb has completed one day of successful testing in a Formula Renault BARC car with
Hillspeed at Brands Hatch Circuit. The talented young winner of the 2005 Star of Silverstone Award once again produced an impressive performance.

After a few sessions where Neb spent on acclimatising to the car and the circuit the fast times started to come through. Despite having never driven a car with slicks and wings and never driven at Brands Hatch before, Neb settled in exceptionally quickly and was lapping in very fast times.

Covering around 140 laps on the day, Neb’s lap times consistently improved where in the 4th session he was only within a second of the lap record.  In the last 2 sessions the temperature went up so it was very hard if not impossible to improve the lap times, however, Neb managed to improve his lap time.

Hillspeed Team Manager, Richard Ollerenshaw said, “This was the first chance we have had to work with Neb and we are very impressed with his speed and talent. Considering it was his first time in a Formula Renault car,  plus the first time in the car with slicks and wings and considering he had never driven at Brands before, this is an excellent performance and he is a great potential.”

Neb said after his first test, “I am really happy with my performance for today. I felt confident straight away in the car which allowed me to make a quick progress. Of course, the help I received from my coach Bart Mawer was a great support and being in a fast and professional team like Hillspeed makes everything easier and faster.”
Neb continued, “To be honest I never thought I would adapt to the team and the car this .quickly. Looking at the times now, being only one second of the lap record and being competitive from the start, is a great feeling.”

Neb is now evaluating the options open to him for 2006 winter championship and an announcement is expected to be made soon.
